Performance Analysis of 3-dimensional Turbo Codes

چکیده

Turbo codes have gained considerable attention since their introduction by Berrou and al. in 1993 due to their near capacity performance and low decoding complexity. The conventional turbo code is a parallel concatenation of two identical recursive systematic convolutional encoders separated by a pseudo-random interleaver. In this work, we propose a modified three Dimensional Turbo Code (3D-TCs) which combined three parallel component encoders with a large number of state. The proposed 3D-TCs provide strong error correction near the theoretical Shannon limit. We compare also by this work the performance of the proposed 3D-TCs with that of the 2-Dimensional convolutional turbo codes.
